4 Year Old TEEBALL

League Age 4

Washoe Little League wants every kid to have the opportunity to play baseball and fall in love with this sport. We run a developmental division for those kids who want an early start but aren’t fully ready to play with the 5 year olds. This also allows us to build smaller teams for better instruction for the kids who need it most.

5 Year Old TEEBALL

League Ages 5 – 7

This is our traditional teeball division. Prior to playing at the next level, kids need a year of teeball to develop their skills. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game.

ROOKIE

League Ages 6 – 8

Upon successful completion of a season of teeball, kids move into the Rookie Division. This is the first of two coach pitch divisions played on the actual Washoe Little League fields. After a set number of missed pitches, kids get an opportunity to finish their at-bat on the tee. The goal of this division is to begin teaching the kids the positions and developing their live pitch hitting.

SINGLE A

League Ages 7-9

Single A is the second coach pitch division. The division is much like Rookie, except the use of a hardball and the tee is no longer an option upon missing the ball. Skills are further developed in the field and at bat.

DOUBLE A

League Ages 8 – 10

AA is the first “Upper Division”. Upper division kids tryout for placement in all Upper Divisions, starting with the 12 year olds down. Kids are drafted by coaches to teams. Undrafted kids at the AA level are placed on a Single A team for the season for further development. AA is purely kid pitch and the games are real baseball games, with minimal coach interaction on the field like the Lower Divisions. Kids in this division generally have the ability to make throws across the infield, well, mostly. Kids are exposed to pitching for the first time and batters are exposed to kids pitching for the first time, also. There are walks and strikeouts, pitch counts, steals, and everything else that makes baseball fun.

TRIPLE A

League Ages 9 – 11

AAA is the second of three Upper Divisions. Kids drafted to a team at this level are making bigger throws, hitting harder, and facing better pitching and competition. Scores are recorded at this level and includes an end of year tournament. Kids who play in AA are eligible for post-season teams (All-Stars and Renegades) described down below.

MAJORS

League Ages 11 – 12

This is the traditional Little League Division for the oldest kids in the league. All 12 year olds, regardless of skill, are drafted to a majors team. This division is the best competition kids will face in Little League. Pitching and hitting are very developed in this division as is fielding. Kids in Majors are eligible for post-season teams (All-Stars and Hooligans).

JUNIORS

League Ages 13- 14

Juniors is for the kids who are ready for traditional size field with 90ft base paths and 60ft mounds. Leading off, dropped third strikes, and every other baseball rule is in effect in our Juniors Division. This Division is meant to give kids another option after Little League and prior to high school.
