What is the "league age" of my player?

Registration for WLL is done by “league age” not actual age at the time of registration, per Little League International rules.

  • For baseball, the league age is your player’s age on August 31st of the calendar year of that given season.
  • For softball, January 1st of the calendar year of that given season is the age determination date.

Little League has a helpful league age calculator to easily find your player’s league age. Additionally, WLL has created a League Age table to help you quickly determine your player’s league age and which division they will typically play in.

What division should I select for my player?

The League Age table can help you determine the correct division based on your player’s league age

Please see the baseball and softball divisions of play for more details on the typical ages, skill levels, and rule enforcement at each level.

What is required for verifying residency?

For a child to play with WLL, eligibility must first be established by way of residency inside the boundaries of WLL, or the location of the school where the child attends is located inside WLL’s boundaries. Preschool locations cannot be used to establish residency.

Please review the boundary map and residency verification page for complete details.

Can I upload a photo of my child’s passport, instead of a birth certificate?

Per Little League International rules, we will need a copy of your child’s birth certificate – we cannot accept passports.

I already registered and need to provide the birth certificate and/or residency verification documents. Where do I send it?

To upload verification documents: Login to your Sports Connect account, -> on the ‘My Account’ page, click on the pencil icon that is located to the right of your player’s name -> upload document(s) using the applicable fields in the form. Note: you must first register in order to upload the forms.

What do I use if my player is in pre-school in the boundaries OR my player goes to school outside the boundaries but we live in the boundaries?

Please see our Washoe Little League boundaries page for details.

My player wants to play with friends. How do I request that?

You may request specific friends for Tee Ball, Rookies, Single A, Coach pitch softball and  player pitch softball. There is a form to fill out after registration. We will try our best to honor these request but cannot guarantee them. For AA, AAA, Majors, as well as Minors softball, and Majors softball, players are drafted after an assessment day and no special requests may be made outside of siblings which, if requested, can be drafted onto the same team.

When will I find out what team my child will play on?

Players and their parents will be directly contacted by their manager by email in late February/early March. If you don’t hear from a manager by March 10, after checking your spam/junk folder, please contact wll.league.of.champions@gmail.com.

How much does it cost to play for one player?

Registration fees vary by division and may be found on the Registration Page (fees will be displayed on the page during the open registration period).

If a player decides not to play, is it possible to get a refund?

If a player decides to withdraw, a refund of registration fees minus the service fee is available only up to the time of a player’s first game. Parents should contact the wll.league.of.champions@gmail.com about the decision not to play and to request a refund.

I'd like to inquire about a scholarship - who do I reach out to?

Miscellaneous FAQ

Where do I find help with GameChanger?

Washoe Little League uses GameChanger to score upper division games. Volunteers from each team will learn how to score in GameChanger and will be asked throughout the season to score games. Below are links to educational support materials.

What do we do with the Medical Release forms?

The Medical Release forms are to be completed and given to your team head coach/manager or team parent. The coach will keep all completed forms with them and bring them to all games and practices. This is information that can assist the coach if there is an injury to a player and the parents cannot be located or are not at the practice or game. The coach or team parent will collect these at the first team meeting or practice.
